|A Walk in Your Shoes - Becoming an Oracle Fusion Applications End User and How that can help you by Debra Lilley
I have always worked for Oracle Implementors (never for Oracle themselves). |
With the first one, they were EBS users and it was an added advantage to talk about the application from both the implementor and user dimensions.
Now I work for an xxxxx, an implementor that was one of the first adopters of Fusion Apps.
Not a single module, but full Finance and Procurement, PBCS, Core HR, Talent and Recruitment.
This presentation will turn the tables a bit and give an honest appraisal of what I have found and ideas to capture some of that continuous improvement that Fusion delivers.
How do the implementors take their user experience into their customer projects?

|Where has SQL gone? by Mark Griffiths
Since cloud erp/hcm no longer exposes the database to implementors, support or developers what options are available? Can OTBI fulfill the need ?|
We will try this and discover that it is a serious overhead to use in any serious manner.
We then explore IDE Overlays/Alternatives.
In this presentation we explore the many use cases that necessitate old school SQLdeveloper/TOAD adhoc interrogation of back end tables and views.
We demonstrate the OTBI solution and compare it to what we used to have, IDE like SQLdeveloper/TOAD.
There are overlays to OTBI and we explore the cloud solutions that are portable and available for us to get back the insight and efficiency we lost, when cloud apps removed the ease of accessibility of tables & views.

|Unexpected consequences from moving off Dataloader for Data Entry… A fairy tale result! by Grant Taylor
Bunnings is Australia and New Zealand's leading retailer of home improvement and outdoor living products, and a major supplier to project builders, commercial tradespeople and the housing industry. We currently use Oracle EBS.|
We have a significant number of customer records which require many profile creations and updates.
To do this we used a discoverer report, manipulated the data and used Dataloader with it’s mouse controls to upload the profiles.
However, with Discoverer being end dated and Internet Explorer being desupported we were left with no option but to look for an alternative supported solution.
In this presentation you will learn how we were able to implement a successful replacement solution that not only met our existing requirements but also exceeded our expectations. As an example, one of the processes used to take 3 hours, now takes 10 minutes.

|Running EBS on Cloud? Beware of this overlooked performance metric by Andy Haack
Database systems running on modern hardware are no longer constrained by I/O or memory shortage as both of these historic performance bottlenecks have been addressed by hardware technology advancements. The biggest constraint to system performance can now be found in a little-noticed space....the single thread CPU Speed. CPU speed is often overlooked when considering Cloud infrastructure providers, and it can be the difference between a successful "lift and shift" or a migration that moves the company backward from a user experience with system performance.|
We will show a performance comparison of different cloud and on-premises systems, such as OCI, AWS or Oracle Exadata, and demonstrate the differences running Oracle EBS SQL queries on them.
Learn about the impact of single thread CPU speed on database query performance.
Learn how to audit database performance and gather the metrics that pinpoint the problems.
Introduce attendees to a public domain SQL library that can help to analyze Oracle EBS performance.
Attendees will gain personal and professional growth by learning about performance monitoring and will get access to a library of SQL scripts that can help their business users work more efficiently with EBS on a day-to-day basis.
