  • APEX UX: treat your users as you like to be treated

We APEX developers, of course, want to make our users happy. We’ve all been angry at one point when we had to use a website that made it an adventure to accomplish our goal. Unfortunately, UX is a complex topic that is difficult to grasp as it is hard to measure and builds on human subconscious behavior. To shed some light on this topic, I first want to lay some groundwork on how to think about UX and what aspects to take into account before designing your app. Next-up, I will present categories that can make you fall into pitfalls due to the low-code nature of APEX. This includes color usage, app structure, data display, how to treat different user workflows, and more. To illustrate these areas, I will show examples of dos and don’ts and how they are implemented in APEX. My goal is to make you able to see your app from a user’s perspective and make you actively think about UX while developing apps.
