This is not a hands-on workshop. However delegates are encouraged to bring their
own laptops and follow along during the workshop, though this is not compulsory. Laptops should meet the following
pre-configured requirements:
- A laptop with at least 1.5GB RAM recommended, Pentium IV 2GHz (anything faster recommended),
and ~725MB hard-drive space available.
- MS Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox 2.0+.
- An installed 9i, 10g or 11g Oracle database, including Standard, Enterprise or Express
Edition (XE) versions.
- Download the 11g Technical Preview release 2 or later Studio version of JDeveloper from the
OTN website. A demonstration of how to install JDeveloper will be shown in the workshop.
- Delegates are required to create a database schema called "sage" and run the following SQL
script logged in as the
sage schema. Ensure to check that you can connect to the account
via SQL*Plus and can select from the tables created in the script. Make sure to take note
of the connection details for use in the course.
Please note no time during the course will be given to assisting delegates to set their
laptops up. Feel free to contact Chris Muir at
